We don’t just build here. We live here.

Central Florida isn’t just a place where we build homes, it’s the place we call home, and have for over 25 years. Which is why we proudly support local charities and outreach organizations that help improve our community. It’s our way of giving back to the place that has given us so much.

Park Square Homes Teams Up with Habitat for Humanity
Park Square Homes Teams Up with Habitat for Humanity

Park Square Homes, a proud supporter of local charities and community outreach, recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to bring a bit of happiness to a small family in need. On Tuesday, February 6, Park Square Homes completed a new home for Daysha, a nursing student, and her young daughter, Destinee.

As a single parent, Daysha became involved with Habitat for Humanity after being accepted into the University of Central Florida and realizing that she needed financial assistance in order to pay both tuition and a mortgage. After working with other organizations first, she enlisted the help of Habitat for Humanity and said that she now understands the concept of building a house from a solid foundation – something that Park Square Homes does every day for its clients.

Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage to achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. To become qualified, each applicant must show a housing need, be willing to volunteer, attend homeownership classes and have the necessary income and credit to pay the monthly mortgage. Each approved future homeowner must complete 200-400 hours of sweat equity volunteer hours. They must also complete 34 hours of homebuyer education classes focused mainly on financial literacy, but also including home maintenance, fire safety, personal security, foreclosure prevention, predatory lending education, homeowner’s association involvement, and credit counseling, if necessary. The process from initial pre-qualification survey to closing varies by homeowner, but in Daysha’s case, the process was accelerated by six months due to the Builders’ Blitz opportunity.

Homes built by family for family is one of Park Square Homes’ core values, as the company is family owned and operated. Being able to team up with Habitat for Humanity to build a new home for a family in need was a rewarding experience. Park Square Homes has a history of partnering with Habitat for Humanity, having worked with the organization in 2015 and 2016 for its annual Home Builders Blitz. The program brings together professional homebuilders to build safe and affordable housing for families in need of a suitable place to call home, such as Daysha, who says that she now enjoys opening the front door of her new home and creating wonderful memories with her daughter. “Never allow life’s obstacles to get in the way of your goals,” she says.

On Sunday, October 22, Park Square Homes participated in the 5th Annual Pink on Parade Breast Cancer 5k, a yearly walk/run through Celebration, Florida in support of women battling breast cancer in the local community.

Since its inception in 2013, Pink on Parade has raised almost $200,000 with the help of more than 3,600 participants, to support more than 200 women battling breast cancer in our community.

Park Square, with the help of its vendor partners, Florida Paints, Just Floors and Quality by Design, was able to raise $3,935 by race day. Exceeding its fundraising goal by nearly $1,000, Park Square ranked in the top three highest fundraising teams.

Park Square Homes has been avidly involved in the efforts to support individuals battling breast cancer. In 2016, Park Square hosted its Inaugural Charity Golf Classic benefitting Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach, and later in the year, pledged a $500 donation for each home sold during the month of October, resulting in an $8,000 donation to the organization.

June 6, 2016 was the kickoff for the Habitat for Humanity 2016 Home Builders Blitz.  Park Square Homes has once again partnered with Habitat for Humanity to complete 2 homes in only 5 days at the Butler Preserve community for two wonderful and deserving families.  This was the Orlando affiliate’s fourth Builders Blitz in the last decade and each has been more successful than the last!

Park Square Homes was one of eight builders participating in the Blitz for the second year in a row and welcomed the opportunity to give back to the Orlando community.  In addition, we are thankful to Habitat for Humanity for giving us the opportunity to be part of something so wonderful.

Park Square Homes would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire team for working so hard and diligently to make sure these two homes would be ready.  Our team is amazing and we are proud to have each of you as a member of the Park Square Homes family!

The homeowner dedication ceremony took place June 11, 2016 and included all participating builders, future homeowners, subcontractors, Habitat members and those from the surrounding communities.  Representing Park Square Homes at the key presentation ceremony was CEO Suresh Gupta, President & COO Steve Parker, Habitat project superintendent Fernando Marrero and Area Construction Managers Kevin Parrish and Steve Smith.   The Park Square Homes family wishes both our wonderful new Habitat homeowners many happy years in their new home and looks forward to future opportunities to give back to the community.

Park Square Homes would like to thank Habitat for Humanity for giving us this opportunity to give back to the community by inviting us to be part of such an amazing program.  We could not think of a better way to start off the new year.   We appreciate the dedication and support of the entire Park Square Homes team and tradesmen who were instrumental in making this project a success.

Orlando Sentinel Article: This was Habitat Orlando’s “Home Builders Blitz” — eight homes, seven builders, five days — a construction jump-start on the nonprofit’s latest subdivision, Butler’s Preserve. The once-blighted 38-acre tract off Ivey Lane will eventually be a community of 59 affordable homes and preserved wetlands, named in honor of former city commissioner and longtime affordable-housing advocate Mable Butler.  “I have to tell our other [future] homeowners, ‘It doesn’t usually happen at this speed,'” said Jennifer Gallagher, director of the charity’s community outreach. “It’s definitely not the norm.”  Most Habitat projects involve large doses of volunteer labor supervised and supplemented by professionals. But this was the Orlando affiliate’s third and most ambitious attempt at a builders blitz in the past decade. Habitat reached out to some of the builders, who reached out to others, who reached out to their subcontractors, Gallagher said. All companies donated their labor, and some offered materials too.

“I can tell you, to have the homeowner out here as excited as she is, as appreciative as she is, it really boosted our spirits,” said J. Hunter Denney, project manager for Walker & Company, based in Winter Park.  His company joined Emerson International, Jack Jennings & Sons, Park Square Homes, Pulte Homes, R L Burns and Standard Pacific Homes for the blitz.  – By Kate Santich, Orlando Sentinel –

Park Square Homes Donates $8,000 to Local Breast Cancer Outreach Organization
Park Square Homes Donates $8,000 to Local Breast Cancer Outreach Organization

Central Florida home builder Park Square Homes presented Vanessa Echols, founder of Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach and Channel 9 news anchor, a check for $8,000 on Thursday, Jan. 27. The money came from a fundraising initiative during Breast Cancer Awareness month last October. Park Square Homes pledged a $500 donation for each home sold during the month. CEO Suresh Gupta delivered the check to Ms. Echols after a final tally of homes constructed was confirmed.

Compassionate Hands and Hearts is an organization that offers support to help improve the quality of life of those battling breast cancer and their families. “All of our money stays local, so it goes directly to help the patient,” Ms. Echols said.

Mr. Gupta expressed his support of the Compassionate Hands and Hearts organization, saying, “We’re happy to hear the big difference Vanessa and her organization are making, and we’re honored to help support those efforts.”

Ms. Echols spoke about a current Outreach program, explaining how the money would benefit a local family in need. “They’re having some problems with paying the rent as well as the utilities. So, with this, we’ll be able to help them get ahead. We want to pay three months rent, so we’ll be able to take care of that. We’re also going to give her a $500 Visa gift card, so she can shop for groceries and things like that.”

We look forward to hearing from you.
