Outdoor Activities
Winter Garden is also known its thriving community atmosphere and vibrant outdoor activities as well. The city is settled right by Lake Apopka, the fourth-largest lake in Florida. The lake attracts a variety of outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy boating and fishing year-round. Annual bass fishing tournaments are also hosted on the lake. On the shore, hikers can take the Lake Apopka Loop Trail which spans over thirty miles of northern shoreline, perfect for spotting herons, turtles, and other iconic Florida wildlife.
Another popular spot for getting outdoors is the West Orange Trail. The trail runs twenty-two miles with plans to further expand the biking trail to a total of thirty-six miles. The bike trail hosts cyclists, joggers, and skaters as it winds throughout the community in Winter Garden. Many residents also use the trail to bike to Plant Street.
